But he clearly got a hold of some of that super weed and allegedly was riding around (speeding) on a Can – AM Spyder motor cycle with 3 guns on him. The police said a handgun was found in his pocket, another in his pant leg and that he had a shotgun in a guitar case strapped to his back!

Oprah is who we thought she was!

But what’s not to love about Oprah? The dough, the crazy half yell, half scream thing, the weight fluctuation, the charitable donations..I mean the list is endless really. Perhaps one of the dopest things Oprah does is present viewers with her favorite things. These items that range from food, gadgets, cars and all types of other random goodness are usually pretty legit.

So PF presents the subdued version of our favorite things for September:

Rashida Jones – We Like Her. She’s cute and seems like she would actually be ok to kick it with. Her new show Parks and Rec is starting to get good too.

The Rubber Nixon Player Watch - I’ve got a few of the originals. The Rubber is a good look though and priced right.

Scott Kazmir - Great trade by Tony Reagins! Kazmir has been great so far in 2 starts for the Angels

The Mokulua Islands On Oahu – Just got back from Hawaii and this spot was the highlight of the trip. The grueling ocean Kayak out there aside.

Vinyl Banners – Just mixed these in for 2 special occasions; a family reunion and my pop’s 55th birthday party. Affordable and simple, you cant really go wrong.

I wonder what Delonte West is using to bypass the NBA drug testing system? As evidenced by this video of him at the KFC he’s clearly a pee test genius. And funny as hell to boot.

Man…. I mean we all knew Ron Ron had issues right?  But shouldn’t he have at least had the foresight to  consider that if the Rox get past Portland (which they did tonight) then they actually have to face Kobe and the Lakers. Last time the teams met  Ron Ron saw the Mamba strike 1st hand..

This should make for a very interesting series starting Monday Night..And yes I will be in the building!!

Wow! So what a day. It was hard not to get a little emotional while watching Barack Obama being sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

This was a great day for all Americans not just a black or white (insert any primary color) thing. Barry’s a unit-er and it seems like people really get that. That was the reason for the out crying of support and high emotions.

For people like my pops who endured racial bigotry while growing up in the south yes this day took on a surreal…”I cant believe this is actually happening moment”. But for the large majority of Americans today was an awesome day to reflect back on  the past and recognize how far we have come, yet also dream about how far we can go.

I think Barack’s inauguration as President illustrates that more poignantly than anything we have ever witnessed.

On a less serious note: How about Beavers Basketball Coach Craig Robinson sporting (it’s sporting because some of the dorkiest people use “rockin” now) the Oregon State Beaver’s scarf for billions to see! That was pretty tight I’m not sure OS will ever get exposure like that. We all knew being Barack’s brother in law would have perks. But props to Coach Rob for taking full advantage of the opportunity. Yes We can!

Hopefully brilliant moves like this keep pulling in recruits like Roberto Nelson and Jared Cunningham.

Playoffs!! Yes Playoffs. Its getting pretty ridiculous that College Football, a sport that just about everyone loves for one reason or another gets pretty damm boring this time of year. When post season play rolls around all the drama and pageantry that makes CFB so exciting peaces out .

We (the fans) are then left with a month full of mostly meaningless bowl games. I’m especially pissed about it this year since my Oregon State Beavers completely blew a shot to play in the Rose Bowl( by losing at home to the Oregon (D) ucks) and are now most likely headed to the Sun Bowl With that loss almost a week removed,  I’m back  eating solid foods and done binge drinking so I can clairvoyantly drop 5 reasons why The BCS needs to the shake the spot and a College Football playoffs needs to be ushered in. Whether its 4,8, 12, 16 teams? Who cares just make it happen.

5. Everyone else is doing it! – CFB is the only major College sport without a playoff or Tourny.

4.  The debate and outrage wont stop – Many think that a major reason why CFB wont adopt a playoff system is that it will keep people (fans, media) from having heated discussions about who should play in the title game, top BCS bowls, etc. That will not happen, inevitably even with a Playoff format a few teams will still get snubbed and there will be plenty upset people venting.

3. Classic Matchups – Imagine if there was an 8 team playoff this year. It would shake down like so:

#8 Penn St. vs. #1 Texas

#5 USC vs. #4 Florida

#6 Utah vs. #3 Texas

#7 Texas Tech vs. #2 Oklahoma

2. Non BCS Schools would finally get a legit shot – Personally I’m all about the underdog but  this year there isnt really a solid non BCS contender. Utah is a good team but not great. Sorry for the overt homerism but my Oregon State Beavers outplayed them at their field only to have the game stolen away by a solidly gritty Utah team aided by a bogus PI call and another Horrible Kahut moment . The fact is the BCS will never rank a non BCS school in the top 1 or 2 spots so a playoff would give them a fair shot to make a run.

1. USC fans could stop their crying – Living in SO Cal, every year  nowadays I am bombarded by the Jim Hat ( USC Trojans) fans B’ ing and moaning about how they are really the best team and blah blah. While we all agree the BCS sucks right now its most heinous crime is allowing USC fans to think that they somehow still are the best team every year regardless of where they finish. The playoffs would put an end to that talk and if and when the men of Troy are bounced out  MAYBE  just MAYBE these bandwagoneer fans will finally admit they aren’t really #1   no matter what.

But the fact that the Rap City Wrap Up (finale show) will be airing periodically this week on BET is truly a sad day for Second Golden Age (1993 – 2000 ) hip hop heads. I mean for most of us Rap City and the Basement with Tigger was a major highlight of each day. I still remember rushing to home in Jr. High to catch the latest videos, and more importantly the freestyle sessions. While probably 60% of the time the artist would spit written flows it was still nice to see people you looked up to rhyming and having fun with it just like you would with your boys at lunch time.

For 21 years Rap City gave a voice to HIP HOP and helped adavance the culture. I’ve never bought into the Hip Hop is dead thing but the cancellation move  definitely has thrown her to “the floor of the club”. In memory we look back at one of the best sessions from the basement from Cassidy. This may have to be a weekly feature..”Basement Moment of the Week”
