This is one of those things that I really hate seeing. Mariano Rivera is the best closer of all time. That said video evidence of him spitting on the baseball in Game 3 of the ALCS yesterday is really a shame.
A guy like Mo is nasty enough. He doesn’t need to cheat and resort to this tactic. Black eye for the game and the best closer of all time even though dudes obviously a cheater. This is not one of those I did it one time first offense type deals.

It’s impossible for me to believe that his entire 15-year dominance of Major League hitters has merely been the result of some performance enhancing saliva. So I don’t think he’s a habitual hawker. But if he did resort to cheating last night I’m gonna have to say “bad form!” Though it pains me to do so.
